6-Day vs 7-Day Machame — Choose Wisely

  • The 6-day option has a lower summit success rate. Best for experienced hikers or those already acclimatized above 4,000 m (13,100 ft). We recommend this only if you’ve recently completed a multi-day trek at high altitude.  It skips the overnight stop at Karanga Camp, making altitude adjustment more difficult. While some budget operators promote this shorter route, it’s not recommended for first-time trekkers aiming for the best chance of reaching the summit safely.

  • 7-Day Itinerary: Our most popular Machame option — perfect for trekkers with moderate experience and limited high-altitude exposure. It offers the ideal mix of adventure, stunning scenery, and a strong chance of summit success.
